My boy might actually be a girl

so I have had it confirmed in the past that Echo was indeed a boy but now he has a bulge by his tail that makes me think maybe he isn't a he but a she. I want to set up a laying bin just in case but I'm unsure how to go about doing it and I want to make it the right way for Echo. I'm using a different computer but I will post pics when I can. Thanks for your help in advanced :)

If he has a bulge on the underside of his tail, then he is a boy. Females don't have a hemipenal bulge like males do. Do you have a new photo of him? He looks male from the pics you posted a while ago though. How old is he now? If we can confirm that he is actually a male, then you won't need to spend any time or money setting up a laying bin for him.

That would be good I'm not at home now but I'll get some new pics up when I get home :) thanks for your reply I got him in August last year and he was maybe 1 or 2 months when I got him at Petco, so I would say he is maybe 9 or 10 months now.

by 9 or 10 months old we should also be able to tell by the coloring if it is male or female. Is it a panther? The veild males have spurs on the back of their heels if you have a veild...check for that and that will tell you if you have a boy or girl.

I went and checked your photos from before, has spurs = is a male (99% sure). Surely he is getting a bigger casque by now too?

Looking at pics in a past tread, it's definitely a Veiled, previously identified as male by tarsal spurs. From what the OP is saying, it sounds like his hemipenal bulge is now more prominent, but the OP thougth that was a female characteristic.

Echo is a girl

Thanks for your replys everyone...I went to get Echo's cage cleaned out after I took pics and found a lovely little surprise an egg...Echo is 10000% female  so I soaked her in water to see if any more eggs would come out and managed to get one before I had to leave to get to school. She has more and a vet visit is in her near future to see if the rest of her eggs need helped being passed, I just hope I caught this in time so she isn't egg bound.

Ok, that is a surprise :) she has spurs! That's why I always write 99%..........
Here is a great blog on the laying bin, which is a little late now, hope it helps though - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/jannb/345-egg-laying-laying-bin.html
Do you have any recent pics of her? (and have her spurs got any bigger?)

I did take some pics while I was at home I will upload them later today because I have classes until 10 this morning :) I'm in college and can't take her with me :( so my mom watches her while I'm away.

Wow, definitely post pictures! It would be cool if she/he has male colors and spurs but was a hermafrodite and has girlie parts! I'm wondering if that would be a first!

you asked for pics and they are.....

some of the images wouldn't upload because they are too big this one is supposed to be her foot and the images might be a little blurry

oh yeah, the other pictures are definite female coloring and look, and I don't think those are spurs at all, just a tiny flap of skin.
