My baby female veiled chameleon swallowed a twig

i tried to get it out but she swallowed it before i could get her out of her enclosure. I'm worried, I've had bad luck in the past with female baby veileds. they seem to be the most gentile. one i bought as a baby i had for almost 6 months and she never grew from her original size, one i bought as a sub adult passed away in her sleep. I'm worried about my baby who swallowed a twig, she really likes to try to eat dirt sometimes. I've noticed and i see it in her poop time to time. I'm gonna have to keep her away from any dirt or forest floor. any recommendations on a type of bedding i can use for the cage floor? she's surrounded by plants due to her "dirt and vegetarian habits" but i can't have safe-to-eat plants in her cage anymore because they require dirt. not sure if this is common in baby chams but i know i feed her enough but she just gets curious and hungry when she has no food and goes for dirt. sometimes the bugs that are the size for her to eat (fruit flys/tiny crickets) are so small they can get confused with clumps of dirt or twigs while she's catching them. does anybody have similar problems? how can i prevent her from going after bedding and forest floor when I'm not around?and will she be okay, how will i be able to tell if the twig is doing damage? thanks a bunch- audrey

Sm twigs should be removed eating dirt is not good with any reptile and as far as them eating the twig it cant be good may cause stomach issues or even death i have a bare bottom tank with potted plants wrapped with screening

i'd still give that a read ^^^ but ideally bare bottom is fine your potted plants can be taken care of in a few way and combo of some way. the easiest is large river rocks so cant access the dirt. can go one step further covering with screen first than rocks. once again large enough rocks they cannot be swallowed.

now as a baby they eat ALOT, they should be fed several times a day, maybe thats why she may be going for dirt. my 3.5 month old panther i feed between 1-4 times a day which most of the time cup i feed with is empty
