divingne1- Awesome collection. Im in the process of building a pdf tank in a 28 euro bowfront of mine, hopefully it'll be done by the end of the weekend, but i wont be getting the frogs for another 2 months. I plan on buying two D.pumilio for the tank.
The big tank is a 120g but only have 4 azureus in there. You could have 7-8 comfortably if they were a community frog like the terribilis or leucs. The azureus usually don't do well in groups because of the females being so aggressive. Males can be aggressive too. I have 3 females and one male (he has no interest in breeding) and so far it has not been an issue. One female will lay eggs (unfertilized) and one of the other females will eat or squish them but there have been no fighting and doesnt appear to be any stress. I think this has to do with the fact that there are so many hiding spots and such a large tank. These were my first frogs and if I had it to do all over again I would have gotten more orange terribilis and put them in the 120g.

PDF's are sweet, You have some NICE ones. I really like the Azureus and Cobalts. I only have one Azureus I rescued.

Pumilios are really nice. I have a friend who just got 2 mancreeks and another friend who has darklands and mancreeks. A 3rd friend here in my area has a trio of Cayos. The pumilios are so interesting to me because of how they take care of the tadpoles but I was so shocked at how my friends mancreeks have seizures when startled. Not sure if that is a defense mechanism or not but it she is scary for the frog owner.
BTW...would that that phatlanta be atlanta? I live in Canton.

How hard is it to maintain? I know humidity has to be pretty high. Sorry to hijack the thread.. Kinda about the same thing. We want PDFs so bad but We want everything to be perfect

A tank with a glass lid is the easiest way to keep the humidity high. If you have a waterfall or false bottom type thing in your tank, that greatly increases the humidity as well. Regular misting helps maintain the humidity as well. http://www.dendroboard.com/forum/index.php is an incredible forum for pdf's.

NOt sure..its like 5 feet long and on stand about 5.5 feet. has background, like plants..and some darts as well as redeyes (can they be kept together safely?) Not sure if its for the entire setup stand included.. I shoulda snapped a pic. Maybe Keith can as I think he lives near there.. they have another for 6 grand too, but I didnt see anything live in it last weekend...
I paid $260 for my 120g tank (5 foot long) from petsmart, the stand ran $300, all the plants and background supplies ran close to $150 and then the frogs were $200 ($50 each). Not sure how they figure $5000 is a reasonable deal.

No, pdfs and RETF do not do well together. The RETF can eat the pdfs. The crickets that you give RETF can stress the pdfs.

thats what I thought but there were 2 RETF right on the glass sleeping. And some pdfs int he back. they charge anywhere from 79-189 for the PDFs. I dont know anything about gallons. Its pretty big..would take up a big chunk of a wall.. they had some water feature built in and all that.. a guy who works there does them I think. the 6 grand one wasnt all that great, maybe something was living in it that i didnt see.. SHRUG. The critter is overprices IMO, but they are neat to go visit. We are keeping our eyes out for a tank for cheap. Do you go tall or long? I know our RETF needs tall, but not sure about PDFs. havent done much research as its way way in the future still.
The size and height of the tank depends on what kind of frogs you get. The frogs in the 120g are terrestrial frogs so they like a lot of land. The thumbnails are arboreal so they like a lot of height. Leucs and auratus can be kept in a tank with a lot of height as well. The frogs will pretty much use most of the tank anyway.
