Multiple animals living together

Please, Please, Please if you own small animals like Chameleons, Hamsters, Small birds, or anything that's small, scaly, furry, or feathery keep cats and other predatory animals away.

I don't care if your cat, dog, ferret, etc is the sweetest, kindest most gentile animal in the world, it doesn't matter if you've had it for years with no problems.

Believe me eventually something bad will happen.

We owe it to our animals to keep them safe from harm.

PLEASE DO NOT ALOW YOUR CHAM OUT OF THE CAGE WITH A PREDATORY ANIMAL PRESENT!

Disaster is only one quick slap, bite, or stomp away...

I agree! I prowl and patrol around my pet room and bedroom(Where I keep my cham) cause I have a cat. I don't think there's a need to patrol that much anymore, cause my cat is scared like heck of me, but I do it anyway.

Great thread. We try to push this all the time on the tortoise forum. We hear ad stories all the time of a mangled tortoise, by the family pet. Even from those whose dog has been around tortoises all their life. But, that one, time still happens and the family pet tortoise is mangled or dead.

always good to remind folks... I would add the juvenile homo sapien and unknown adult specimens can be very dangerous too...

Your 4 year old kid might look cute holding tour cham but the brain development at that stage makes them unreliable, and some adults will fling their hands if they are scared or nervous about your lizard...

Hahahaha, that one about adults being scared is funny but also very true.

Thank you for the warning. It is always better to be safe than sorry. I know some of us cham enthusiasts already allow their "predator" pets to hang around when the cham is out, BUT...
