Ever find yourself with a 15" UVB and a 18" fixture? "We cant be the only two duped by this bulb". It was suggested that I post a little tutorial on how to mod your fixture to be able to take off sized tubes. Note: only works if tube is smaller than fixture.
1. Use flat head screwdriver to pop out fixture cover.
2. Pop out tube socket on opposite side of switch from fixture.
3a. Install tube into sockets. Size up tube to fixture. Estimate length of tube+socket on fixture and make a Mark where wires will go in/come out of fixture.
3b. Use wire snips or some tool to cut slit into fixture at mark. Possibly keep in mind to keep slit tight to wire so tube will stay secure in fixture and not look sloppy.
4. Feed tube socket wires through slit. Pop on cover and shazam, multi sized fluorescent fixture.
