Moving....

I am going to be moving this coming Friday and Saturday. Its not a huge move its only about a mile down the road . I have kind of an idea what I am going to do, but I want some input from you guys. Would you move your chameleons first thing or have them be the very last thing you move?

Have them in dark transporting boxes (or whatever) and move them last. Keep them in an area that won't have a whole lot of heavy vibrations from moving stuff around and people coming and going for a while so they'll go to sleep. Keep them in their the whole time you're actually taking everything out so they don't see the movement and different people.

I moved very short distance just like you about 10 days ago. I moved everything else first and waited til the chams were asleep and moved them that night. It went very smooth and they didnt even really know they were moving lol They awoke in their same cages just in a new room. No stress on them or on me either.

See thats my biggest issue right now Jaspers cage is so huge that it wont fit in the room in my current apartment and he is in the kitchen right now... If I move them first and put them in their new room and just shut the door and keep everyone out would that work? I just dont want to cause to much stress...

So is Jasper going to have to change cages? From what size to what size? I haven't moved my chameleons in ages so I am not a good person to ask. I would do as stated above to keep the stress down. As long as they move in a box it isn't any different than shipping them. jmo
