Moving up

I'm going to move my veiled charm into a reptibreeze because he's outgrown his 'baby' enclosure .
I'd like to use the same kind of uvb /heating that he's currently using.
I've got a 35w exoterra sunray unit.
Would one of these be okay for a reptibreeze or would I need to up the wattage?
They come in 50w or 70w. What would you recommend for a large reptibreeze?
Herbie is such a happy, colourful chap. I really want to keep him that way so all your advice is very much appreciated.
Thank you.

I wouldn't go any hotter if your temps are the correct basking temps in his basking spot. It's an easy way to get burns if you go to warm with mercury vapor bulbs. They put out a lot more heat than a regular basking bulb and tend to focus it more in one area. I would measure that area with an infared temp gun. If it's a safe temperature then don't go any higher, is it suspended above the cage? or somehow raised above the screen?

One thing I did to avoid the trial and error of sizing bulbs was getting a lamp (just like the normal ones) with a dimmer dial on it. It's really handy at dialing in the temps without messing with buying different bulbs.
Hope that helps

I approve of this JoCarp, I keep forgetting about dimmers because I don't use one lol, I always have the perfect temps with just a 75 watt basking bulb XD
