Moving bump in eye

I've had my Flap-necked chameleon for a little over a month now and about two weeks ago he started keeping his left eye closed. When I tried to take a look and see if he would open it, I noticed this bump in his eye that bulged every once in a while.

He opens his eye most of the time now but the moving bulge is still there.

Does anybody know what the heck this is about?

I am not clear what you mean. The lump itself moves across the eye? Or does the lump shift as the CHAM moves its eye around in the socket?

If the lump itself is floating around on the eye it could be a foreign body (piece of stuck shed, bit of dirt, etc) that will need to be flushed out or carefully removed.

If the lump itself moves on its own, it could be a parasitic worm. Many imported chams have them. Either way, I think a herp vet needs to examine the eye closely to figure it out.
