Just watched 'The boy in the striped pajama's'. Had to recommend it to anyone interested in history/human affairs. I found this 'holocaust' movie like no other before it, including 'shindlers list'. The unexpected ending had a very profound impact on the veiwer, and left you heartbroken and pondering mans inhumanity to man from a new perspective.
Bruno, is the 8 y.o. son of a death camp commander (SS), taken to live in the countryside during the 'final solution' amidst ww2.
Together with his 12 yo sister and mother, they move into a house close to his fathers death camp, on the other side of a small wood.
Whilst exploring, young Bruno finds himself outside the camp, where he meets
8 yo shmuel, innocent victim of the madness and camp inmate, who hides near the electrified wire because its quiet and he can be by himself.
The two little boys strike up an uneasy freindship as natzi propaganda is taught to Bruno and his sister.
Things become intense when the commanders underling makes a comment and lets slip the horrendous truth to the commanders unsuspecting wife.
