MOUTH OPEN!

Is it ok if my juvenile chameleons mouth is open? When the temperature hits anything above 27°C his mouth pops open. I know its his way of cooling down. I usually turn off the heat most days, he seems ok at around 22°C all day. It just looks unfair seeing his mouth open.

Any thoughts on the above would be much appreciated folks.

Thank you so much for any advice you can offer me.

Are you sure your thermometer is correct? What kind are you using?

Yes its a digital with probe. I tried just a digital clock face type, but they were useless. I bought two, one for the chameleon and one for my red eyed tree frog. Both gave massive differences! One said 22 humidity and the other 77!
I've got a Komodo clock face in both which give very similar readings.

Hope this helps?
