For the first time ever, Mort was offered a vine to leave his cage, and he did NOT take me up on the offer, so I had to wrestle him out. Two mouth butts and a major hissy fit later I got him out and into his cooler, Shayna out and into HER cooler, and both coolers into the car.
Her follow up radiograph showed marginally better bone density (it was not terribly bad to begin with) and yes, a belly full of eggs in the making. The vet said they were developing follicles, and if the stars were right and I said the proper incantations, I might get her situation absolutely perfect for her to resorb them. I don't think I'll even try.
Mort was not a happy patient. We got a weight of 110g, started him on Panacur, and talked about the great swath of tests we could run on him to see why he has the overpopulation of pins. I'm very leery about poking a reasonably healthy animal to get bloodwork done, so we're going to clear up the pins first, and see if it was just the stress that opened the door to his parasites.
This is his "get me the hell out of here" pose.
I'll post Shayna's radiograph when I get it in email.
