Morning Bright Spots

Hello fellow chameleon admirers :)

I have noticed my ambilobe Malcolm has been waking up with one or two "bright spots" in the morning. These are small areas in which the color is very bright compared to the rest of the skin. It looks like those spots are fully "fired up" while the rest of the skin is at resting colors. There is no damage and the spots have resolved themselves by the time I come home from work.

Does anyone have a guess as to what is causing this? Sorry no pictures to attach..

Is he wc? The reason I ask is that possibly these are sites of old injuries (burn etc) or a scar that may react differently to the metabolic shift (maybe they are a little slow to shift if the tissue was compromised in some way). Just a WA guess really. Interesting!

Hi Carlton, thanks for the response. No, he is CB and I have had him since about 2 1/2 months (now 8 1/2 months). I have noticed the spots in different places on different mornings, so I don't think it is previous injuries... Good guess though, I hadn't thought of that.

The only thing that I can think of is that they are some type of bites... possibly mites or crickets. I remove all feeders every night, but maybe one has found a hiding place.

I will try to get a picture... Thanks for taking a guess despite the lack of details.
