Monty is shedding again!

Monty had the beginnings of his third shed last night, and today he is exploding with dead skin! He is pacing around in his viv rubbing himself on everything in his path to get the skin off! I had an idea a shed was due as he didn't eat much yesterday. His appetite is back today and he now weighs 11.2g!! My little man is getting bigger by the day!:D

Here's a couple of pics of a rather tatty looking Monty!:D

He is 5 months old, but Jacksons grow a lot slower than Panthers and Veileds. He still only weighs 11g! As a baby, my female Veiled shed every month from 3 month sold until she was 6 months, then it slowed right down to every 3 months. As babies they shed the whole body in a matter of hours, but adults may shed one body part at a time and take a couple of weeks to do a full shed. Before a shed starts, they may not eat as much. These shed starts by the chameleon getting white patches - I like to call it the 'frosted' look! You don't need to help them , they will rub the skin off by themselves. You can add an extra misting session to keep humidity a bit higher during shedding, but allow the viv to dry out in between so that the dead skin can dry out and fall off.
