Molly's tropical paradise!

Okay so I may have gone a little overboard on the floral :D but what does everyone think? Any suggestions on placement or which ones I should return? I did not take any tags off yet so I can return whatever ones don't look good. All florals are from the dollar store (YAY dollar store!) and look beautiful, who woulda thought? Also, does anyone think I should add a sunflower? I have a few in a vase in my living room (fake) and I have orange and yellow.

that is such a beautifull cage, and such a beautifull little girl to put in it <3
so happy she's got a nice home and a loving care giver

your an insparation to us all

Jmo but i would not put fake plants in my enclosures. And if you do, not silk/only plastic. Your not going to be able to keep those clean for long. If you want pretty plants. go buy a large hibiscus/or a jasmine plant both will bloom and no worries about bacteria buildup or possible impactions from chewing or eating. jm .02

I have a hibiscus. Molly has never shown signs of eating plants. I have had fake plants in there for a while and I don't seem to have any problems with them. I just gave them a thorough washing and got any extra dyes off.

Aww your so sweet to her. Your such a good pet owner. Pats on the head for you!

Anyways, love the set up and she is looking very well. How has her movement been? I can only see so much from photos.

She gets around pretty well, only a few spills here and there. I am trying to get the vet to remove the abscess on her eye so she can at least have a chance to see if her eye still works.

I've noticed a lot of stuff I get from the local dollar store tears easily, and the dyes come out when misted. I took a lot of what I got back the next day because the dye came out with the first washing.

what a pretty place for Molly to live. I like it. I don't think there's anything intrinsically wrong with silk. As you've already washed it, you know whether or not the dye bleeds ($1 shops have very varied stock, it all depends who needed old stock removed when....if you luck out, you can get the very best stuff around that's "last year's plant of the moment").

If it's survived being washed once, it will likely survive being washed again.

Does Molly prowl the entire enclosure?

I have found that darker silk flowers have excessive dye on them but when washed the extra dye rinses out and the flower looks the same. It is like dark clothing, they can sometimes bleed the first wash. I washed them out numberous times to make sure no more dye bled out. Yes Molly does prowl all over, she's quite the little monkey :p

I think it's amazing that she prowls the whole enclosure...to me that suggests she feels safe. That's a tribute to you. I will award you the other half star!
