Mold on feeder food

This has not happened to me before but something I have been curious about. If the food that you give feeders such as oranges and such gets mold on it and is not taken out of the feeder tanks and they keep eating it, and then in turn is fed to chameleons. Will the chameleon get sick from eating the feeder that has been chomping on the moldy food?

This has not happened to me either but I would imagine the bugs would get sick and die if they ate mold.

What you are feeding your feeders ... you are feeding to you chams. Feed them veggies they get veggies. Feed them apples you feed apples. So IMO if you feed them a food that has mold on it... you are in turn feeding your cham mold. I personally would not do it.

That was my thought process too. I'm not feeding mold though. Was more of a hypothetical situation.

To be honest, this happened to me a few days ago. I completely cleaned the roach tub, new egg carton and everything. I found one that was covered in what looked like mold, and I isolated him and threw him outside. Change food regularly, and you'll have no prob.

EDIT: I found none dead, but I did work fast.
