Mold hybrid cage.

I set up a "hybrid cage" (3 sides glass, top and front screen.) about a month or so ago for a K.Uthmoelleri, I have plants that are planted into the soil substrate, and proper drainage layers, a few weeks ago I noticed a little white whispy mold growing across the soil, and it seems to be spreading, it is just on the soil, I have done some reading and apparantly this is normal is a new vivarium. I am adding springtails soon. My questions are, any other methods to get rid of it? How long should it last? Is it harmful to my chamelen?

The springtails should help break it down. Mold has never effected any of my dart frogs in viv settings, so I don't see why it would harm a chameleon. It should go away on its own eventually.

are springtails as in fruit flies?

no, they are a form of simple insects that act as a cleaner and eat detritus and waste.

apparantly this is the natural cycle that goes on in a new vivarium, it should clear up soon.
