MistKing Water Use?

I have had my Mistking for about a month now and I absolutely love it. The only thing I do not like is the amount of distilled water I am going through which is adding up $$ lol

I got the Ultimate Value system. I now have a total of 6 nozzles hooked up. 3 in each of my two cages. I have it running 4 times a day at 5 minute cycles. I have a couple questions for everyone that is running the mist king.

1. Will you go through more water the more nozzles you have hooked up? I am pretty sure this is true but did not know if it just forces more water out each nozzle the less you have compared to not as much water per nozzle the more you have hooked up.

2. If you could post your water usage results by adding how many nozzles you have, how often/long you are misting for, and how much water you are using a day. This will help me get an idea if I need to get a RO system to keep up with the water use or what LOL.

P.S I saw your blog you posted Wykd and that is great work comparing the different systems.

Mistking nozzles run at .25gallons per hour
The more nozzles the faster the water goes bye bye

Why do you have 3 nozzles in 1 enclosure, is it over 2x2x4 size?

I would suggest direct connect to a water source if pushing more than 1 nozzle.

Buy a RO filter system and it should also include a tap for piercing into a water line, and get a auto top off float switch. Then you can run water fro mwater line thru the ro filter into the reservoir and feed the mister. The float switch will keep the reservoir with the water needed as it is used.

However with all of this water being used then you want to consider automating the drainage out of the house also.

I am doing just that in this post I took Seeco's gutter drain and modified it to fit my setup. ;)

If your searching for a RO here is a good deal imo. it has the auto top off float etc...

Ok Then the amount of water I am using seems right then. I have two 2x2x4 cages. I run three nozzles because one nozzle in each cage points directly on a plant for water drip and the other two are to get a lot of the cage wet but also leaving an area that the cage is dry in case they do not want the shower. I think I will take away one of the nozzles in each cage as I am sure that will still be more than fine. Thank you. Oh and I do not have to worry as much for a drain system as they are outside. Its rough living in Hawaii :D

Again thank you Wykd I was actually just searching for a RO system on Amazon. I will most likely get the one you just linked. You are a great help.

lol no worries, yeah i guess its rough out on the islands  lol

You could also get some nozzles from aquazamp if you want more water coverage. I find their .9 will cover a 2x2x4 pretty well and if not centered can/will exceed the screen.

Yeah a ro filter is a great purchase and while it seems a little costly up front, the distilled/bottle water will not nickel and dime you to death in the long run.
