Misting system(s) confusion (yep. another mist thread)

alright, i know there are tons of misting system related threads, i've searched and read many of them. i havent really found exactly what im looking for. i have a few specific things to ask so people who actually own these things (or have) please give me your opinions and all that jazz.

first off - the 99.99 mistking system - who has it? how is it? have you tried the more expensive systems they offer? if i got this i would consider getting an extra nozzle and a zip drip, would it be worth it just to upgrade the whole system then? also, how is the drip anyways? is it like a stead drip all the time or just for a few minutes after it sprays or what?

ok aquazamp - what is a torrential spray nozzle? if i get a mist kit can i add a rain dome to the same kit and have mist and rain? what exactly is the rain dome anyways? is it just a bucket with holes in it or what? there are a lot of different kits, which would be the best for someone who wants a 2 nozzle set up? or a nozzle and a rain dome.

the problem im having is i dont want to end up with a ton of extra stuff i wont use, likely at max any of these will only be hooked up to MAYBE 3 cages so it doesnt NEED to power a ton of nozzles but i do want a nice system. shipping from mistking kind of sucks (everyone knows that, no offense mistking!) and if its possible to have mist and a rain dome that is enticing but the 99.99 kit at mistking seems like it would do the trick with an extra nozzle.

this isnt really which one is better or anything like that, i have no bias whatsoever i just want to get the most out of my money (as im sure everyone does) so i dont want to spend extra on a more powerful this or that and never use it to its full potential but i dont want to cheap out if its not going to last.

thanks everyone, i know these types of threads can get annoying but assuming i get the responses i want i promise not to make another thread quite like this. hahaha. :) i really did search and read a lot but i feel like the websites dont give n00bs enough info to know WHY you would want this or that, etc. what type of situations you would want certain things..

Don't know much about the Aquazamp (by much, I mean nothing). I kinda told you how fantastic the MistKing is in our previous chat. The only thing I have to add is that MistKing is sold thru suppliers here in the Sates so you dont have to pay as much for shipping. I got mine thru Pangea Reptiles, Matt is awesome! Also a sponsor for the forum and he has very good rates on shipping. I am sure there are others that have it, I just know from personal experience...I have gotten quite a bit from Pangea in the past, very nice ppl! Also, Marty at MistKing completely backs them thru his suppliers as well, so it is a win win for you! :) Hope this helps

oh, very cool! i looked on joshs frogs but they were sold out. ill make sure to look pangea. what is your chat name again? i feel like i dont know who anyone is in here. haha. gets confusing. thanks.

I personally use the mistking starter system and I love it, I really cant imagine going back to life without it. To be honest I really dont see the need for the zip-drip valve, my head doesnt drip except for maybe a couple drops after misting but then again why would I care, the entire enclosure is wet anyways. I am currently setting up another enclosure and if you ask me how it handles the extra nozzle in 2 weeks I would be happy to answer

lol you had PM'd me about some stuff, I think I may have scared you off with too long of responses!:)

I would love to know the answer to that as well! I just ordered my second cham and I'm looking at misting systems right now, so I would love to know how the MistKing works with multiple enclosures.

Also, how many nozzles does the 99.99 starter kit actually include? It's kind of unclear on the website.

The starter kit includes 1 nozzle and they say it can handle up to 10 nozzles

i looked on all the retailers sites and no one else is selling the 99 kit, but there are a few with the .. ultimate? i think. averaging 210ish shipped. found one that was a bit cheaper but not a whole lot.

and, i would be interested to hear how it takes another nozzle, if i do order it i will likely get an extra nozzle or 2. still not dead set on mistking yet though.

I have 2 mistkings and the AquaZamp. Kevin @ AquaZamp is so easy to deal with.
I didn't get the zip drip either, didn't see the reason.
ea mists 2 cages, I see no difference in pressure or output.
Marty was doing a shipping deal last month, maybe still is.
You can order extra parts at LLL, fast and reliable.
My mk's are the midsize, az is like a small dome, sits on top of cage and is kinda like a rainbird for your lawn, but gentler:p

I bought the $99 starter system with zipdrip and top wedge 2 months ago but just finishing the cage see herehttps://www.chameleonforums.com/chameleon-cages-project-works-62696/ and the system is in use for 2 weeks now.

The system came with only one nozzle but found out that mistingdepot is nearby so I bought from them 2 more nozzles.

The starter system ran right on time with 3 nozzles 3 minutes 5 times a day everyday without any issue. I have 3 gallons of filtered water in the 5 gallon reserve in 2 weeks now I think it use only 1 gallon so far. Money well worth spend.

If I had to buy it again I would buy the starter system without the zipdrip and the top wedge.

Make sure to use filtered water for the nozzles to mist evenly.

wow. ive already used over a gallon and ive just have my cham for a week. not to mention its been kind of hard to keep the humidity up so i think within the next couple months ill end up with something. my bday is in september so maybe then?

do you really need the wedges? i was thinking i could use almost anything to support a nozzle, cant imagine they weigh all that much.

I really like the wedges, it really does make for an easy install but im sure you could make one out of something

You could cut a piece of flat cardboard, plastic board...etc to hold the nozzles in place instead of the wedges.

I have the aquazamp setup with the black dome that has 2 nozzles in it! LOVE IT so I would go with that. Kevin is very knowledgable and will answer any question you have!

I just received my Mistking starter set yesterday. For those of you with this system, what is the best place to position the nozzle? I haven't seen the output of the single nozzle so I'm not sure where to position for the best coverage.

I put mine in the front corner so it is easy to get to in case I want to reposition it or clean the head

The torrential nozzle is a higher flow nozzle that sprays 3 gallons per hour, versus the standard nozzle that sprays .9 gallons per hour. Both are a fine mist, with the only difference being the amount of water.

Also, you can absolutely run a nozzle and RainDome at the same time. In fact, we run both on the same cage at shows so that people can see the two options separately or together. There are also three different sizes of RainDomes with one, two, or three nozzles in order to fit different size cages.
