Hi, Im thinking of getting an automatic misting system, I dont have tons of cash and was thinking of getting the Zoo Med Habba Mist (Auto Misting Machine) I know its only a cheap one but my cham (vern) is still a lil bubby, I also have 2 little drippers, What Im concered about is I can fill the tank up with warm water but inbetween mist's the water in the tubes amd tank will go cooler and vern doesn't like that!

Any ideas on the best route to go? is cooler water ok or too stressful?

Thanks for any help or advice.

I wanted to get the habba mist too because it looked cheap and good but from what I hear you might as well just use a dripper or spray bottle because everyone says it just drips and has a really weak spray. I havent seen one in use with my own eyes yet though.

IMO warm water is just a good source for bacteria to grow. The water will event. become room temp which is fine

The Habba Mister is junk. Its far better to spend the extra $50 and get a starter Mist King or Monsoon.

As for the warm water, a fish tank water heater works great. I only heat my mister water when my chameleons are shedding even then just by a few degrees above room temperature.

I'd 2nd those saying habba mist is junk, imo your better spending double for a mistking or aquamist than getting something that won't last.

As for warm water I wouldn't bother with it so long as your room temps are in the upper 60s or 70s the water won't be to cold (think of rain, it's normally air temp or cooler). I'd leave the warm misting for hand misting.

Dont waste your money on the Habba Mist. It is pure crap. My chams came with them from the breeder. They didnt last a month. Pure crap. Get a Mistking. Or just continue with hand mistings and drippers. As for a heater I dont use one. When it rains out side. The rain is cool, not warm.(in most cases;)). But you can use a small aqurium heater. They dont cost much at all. But you cant use it with a Habba Mist. There is no where to put it.

Ok i admit to pampering my chams. There water is heated to the point it feels very warm on my hand. I hate cold showers so I can't do that to anything. I use the tallest aquarium heater that fits in my 5 gal bucket. I also use an auto mister, I switched to the aqua zamp.

Is there any one/brand that you guys would recommend? I agree that cold showers are not nice! I just got my Mist King yesterday so I am trying to work out how to set it up and if at all beneficial would like to warm up the water. I have read old threads about the in-line heaters and thought they looked complicated, but a heater in the reservoir didnt seem bad. I know there is concern with bacteria, but I only have 1 cham, I plan on a 5 gal bucket so I imagine water turnover will be fairly quick? I think I am on the fast track to a spoiled rotten cham!

Well, I am new to this and got the Habba Mist with my cham...I already upgraded to the Mist King as I work all day and the Habba Mist is just not efficient. If you are going to be home all day to supplement the crappy drizzle from the Habba Mist with longer hand misting you might be able to make it work for awhile, but plan on saving pennies to upgrade! :)
