Misting schedule for 2-3 month panther

I am getting my baby sent to me wednesday morning and want to get everything worked out tonight or tomorrow night. I have a mistking setup on a 16x16x30 in cage and am trying to work out a good schedule. I work from 8-4 and plan on putting a dripper on before I leave. I can't figure out if I should do short sessions or longer ones. Whats everyones opinion?

Also since I have a thread going I want to buy worms tonight but what size should I get. Im thinking about getting silks if I can find any, some supers, and phoenix. If I buy all 3 will they grow too fast too? Thanks for the help!!!

Get small silks. They don't grow too crazy like the hornworms. I would fill the dripper up as much as you can and make sure you have some type of plan for the water where it drains. If you have a mister i would mist three times a day for about 3-5 minutes or so. That will drench the cage pretty good. The phoenix worms are basically maggots and will turn into flies before you maybe can feed them all off. The supers do not grow that much at all. Atleast not the ones that I have. They can be gutloaded too like the crickets. Crickets are a better choice than the supers. I would hold off on the supers for awhile. Chams go crazy for them and sometimes get picky for them over crickets. Silks are a good feeder.

i will let others comment on misting. I think that misting is climate dependent and AZ and SD have very different climates.

As far as worms the baby snack pack from Mulberry is good. Silks grow pretty fast so get small ones and not too many, but baby chams LOVE them. Baby superworms grow really slowly so you are fine there I try to limit it to 2 per day of those. As far as phoenix worms med are good for baby chams and from what I can tell they don't grow....without a good source of food but they do end up pupating into flies which chams also love. Baby hornworm cups are good from Mulberry farms but they do grow FAST so the in and out of fridge practice is good and plan on feeding them a good deal of them when you have them.

I drilled holes in the bottom and have a tray under to catch water so drainage shouldn't be an issue. I will try that schedule and go from there. My main concern is keeping him hydrated through misting Since I will only be able to do the dripper one time during the day. I will hold on the supers then for now. I read yours is picky so I will listen to you :p

Thanks I'll check mulberry for that baby pack. What would be considered too big of a silk worm for 2-3month cham?

Would i need to overnight silks or will they live a couple days through ground shipping? They are only a half an hour away so Im sure it would get here fast. Also is it easier to just get the silkworm cups? I dont have access to a mulberry tree

I am pretty sure coastal silkworms are by you. Clara has silks(really small ones) horned and premade Mulberry food.
At good prices and you can order 25, but watch out cause she will send you like 100 anyway!!. I have never had a single worm die of hers either.

The silkworm cups are nice cause they come with the food. The food is at the top of the cup and they climb up for the food. The only downside I find to them is they put this trellis like thing in there for them to climb on and then they spin their silk(or whatver it is they do, and all the poop gets stuck up in it. It is supposed to fall to the bottom of the cup but alot of it gets caught up in the web as I call it. What I do is buy the chow seperately and then put the silks in tupperware containers and spoon the food over them. I find it easier to clean but that is just my opinion. I don't think you will have to overnight the silks if the weather is decent. You said you are close to Mulberry Farms and it will probably take a day or so anyways.

no, if you are feeding about 15-20 crickets a day you should be good. You are going to have to allow for die off too. That is exactly what I would order. It should work out good for you. They will grow but now enough that your chameleon will not be able to eat them.
