Misting question

They’re were some people on reddit saying that you have to turn the lights of during while misting. Is that necessary? I’ve never done this and I haven’t heard of anybody doing this before today.

I turn my basking light off for 30 minutes before and after misting sessions to allow the enclosures temps to drop during misting.

I think some do dim or turn lights off in order to simulate the darkness that happens when it rains, to provide a cue to the chams to expect rain/misting.
