So when he keeps closing and opening his eyes, its just him cleaning them out with the mist water? And ill try it your way, sounds like a good way to try.Either, depending on how he reacts. Sometimes, they hate the initial feel of being sprayed but then settle down to enjoy and good misting. Here's what I do which usually has good results: Use very warm (almost hot) water, mist all around the chameleon so he knows it's happening, then slowly mist him moving up from the tail. If he's not in the mood, he'll leave, but if he wants a shower, he'll stay. It's good to give them several minutes of misting at a time so that they can get a good long drink and clean out their eyes. Give the plants and enclosure a good misting several times a day.
Do you have one of these? You should be able to get one at any hardware store for about $10 - this is so much nicer than squeeze sprayer.

Do you refill the jug everytime you mist to get warm water?Yup! He'll swish his eyes around and sometimes will puff them out, too. Since chameleons have fused eyelids, this is important to help them get debris out of the eyes.
