Hello. I was jsut wondering if anyone knows of any good pressurized misters out there for a bit less money than the mist kings. I know you get what you pay for, but money is tight. Are they even worth it for just one chameleon?
We own a herp mist and LOVE it. We do own 10 chameleons though. I personally didn't put the money out until we had 7, I think. But I wish I had put the money out a lot sooner. It is such a relief to know they are staying hydrated if we are not able to come home during the day and mist them.
I think it is worth it for the money. Im not sure how your schedule is but if your gone for most the day for school, work, whatever it is, your cham will love it. They need lots of water.
Before i bought a mister i used drippers.(homemade) It was hard for me to get one to drip all day while i was gone. I would get home and it wouldn't be dripping but still half way full of water.
Im sure some others will chime in and give you some ideas on how to make your own. I have seem some pretty good homemade ones for a lot less than the name brands.
What kind of Chams do you have? Panthers and Veileds don't need high humidity. Even Montane species that require more water have been raised successfully without humidifiers.
I am picking up a panther next week from chameleon caretakers. I ran a cool mist humidifier over night and got the humidity up to 55%. I also ordered a herpa mist, hope that it will be here before next weekend.
