Missing sea lion hides under police car

A WANDERING sea lion pup that got lost and was spotted walking along a street alone at 4am has been freed after hiding under a police car. ....

A senior animal care specialist at Sea World, pulling a baby sea lion out from under a San Diego Police patrol car in Ocean Beach, Wednesday May 5, 2010. The pup estimated to be about 8 months old will be taken to Sea World and examined and rehabilitated before being released back in the ocean.

That happened about a 1/4 mile from my house. It was really traumatic watching it on the news....waiting.... They just kept saying, "Well, hopefully Sea World is going to arrive soon." Four and half hours under a cop car in the street....

But they finally arrived right? Hopefully they will make sure its fit before releasing it.
I wonder where it came from?

Yeah, they did eventually show up. I guess the point I forgot to mention is that Sea World is about 2 miles away, also. Unfortunately they said it had probably been separated from its mother and not been eating much, if anything, for quite a while. He'll have to be fully weaned before release, though. They're all over the place here. I've been out surfing here and turned around toward the beach to see a head pop up. First time I said to my friend, "Hey, what's that dog doing out here this far?" Then I started wondering why the dog had such little ears...
