Missing a nail

so today I took my little guy out to get some sun and I knot iced he's missing a nail on his front hand and I feel horrible about it I have no idea how it happened…could it grow back?

p.s. I do handle him daily but I always let him walk I never pull him off of anything

Missing/Broken nails happen quite often with larger chameleon species and screen cages. If the nail was pulled out it is doubtful that it will grow back. If the nail just broke then it will grow back. Just happened to my guy a few weeks ago and his nail is starting to come back now.

If the nail was pulled out at the root, it will not grow back. Make sure to keep the wound clean to avoid infection. He will still be able to live a perfectly normal life nothing to worry about
