Misfire

My 4 month old ambilobe male today kept misfiring at a meal worm treat. He couldn't sling his tongue out accurately. I don't know much about the anatomy of chams but could this be because he was still in the process of swallowing one down?

He is fine again after like 2 minutes, as he just got a cricket from a good distance away but am just wondering the possible reason for the misfire.

If this continues to happen it is a sign of some sort of problem. If it's a one time or occassional problem then I wouldn't worry too much. I'd just keep an eye on him when you feed him for awhile. It's always good to observe eating and drinking patterns anyway...

I've tried so many times to watch my cham eat or drink. I've NEVER seen him eat (but the crix in the bowl are gone, and he poops just about every day with the correct color). I saw him drink the other day, very cute! He went up to my big dripper hose and put his mouth on it like a water fountain!

I have a (guessing at age) 4-5 month old veiled chameleon.

I posted pictures in the welcome forum a short time ago. The post is on the 2nd page now.
