I'm looking to get a mirco lens for my canon any suggestions? cheapest to decent price?

Mine was $700. Ouch :(

Now I just gotta figure out how to work it correctly. And buy a good set o lights, this thing is mucho light hungry.

What kind did you get Chad? So far, nothing is cheap when you get into DSLRs. Well, maybe the memory card if you're lucky enough to get a rebate, or lens cleaner.

I ordered :

My digital slr has a 1:1.6 ratio so 60mm ~ is 96mm on film.

alot cheaper but I'm not familiar with it soif someone else could comment on this lens....my friend uses sigma lenses for his 35mm and they seemed decent
some of the other photographers have much more experience than I do so take it with a grain of sand.

hehe I actually ordered it after I read another post where I saw you used it and it was pretty much recommended by everyone...
I looked on ebay for a few days but lttle to no discount with a bunch of risk so I ordered a new one along with the rebel XS.. prices have come down so much on DSLRs I finally couldn't pass up this deal: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/589113-REG/Canon__EOS_Rebel_XS_a_k_a_.html
intro package but more than I need. As far as I could tell the XS is an updated verision VERY similiar to the XTi.. wanted the XSI but had to choose between a macro or the body lol

Err yah sorry to take the thread siodeways for a bit but yah that 60 mm is what alot of people recommned on various sites for both closeups such as the work Royden has put up these forums, insects, ect, as well as studio portrait type work.

Royden, I believe, uses the Canon Digital Rebel XTi and I am waiting on my Digital Rebel XS.

I do use the xti. Any canon lens will fit a canon camera (unless it's a full frame sensor body which I doubt you guys have). Tamron, Sigma, and many other companies make lenses for both nikon and canon.

I have no idea what the settings mean for my xti wish there was a tutorial website or something. :(

Settle in a get ready for a journey. I've been shooting for 3 years and I'm still learning...and addicted to the state of mind of "if only I had that lens or that flash etc"

It's best to tackle one concept at a time. Learn all you can from others.

Dunno who to learn from but I'm trying to find some sites that show you something :(

As one of my brilliant instructors once told me concerning art (I'll alter it for photography) You've got a million really bad photos in you, the sooner you get them out the better, so you can start taking good ones.
