She was wanting to come out so i opened the door and put my hand in for her to walk on to, she was sitting on her branch at the top and tried to turn her body around to come to me. Next minute she's lost her balance and falling back over. She landed on her back  on the ground i think she hit her body on her plant pot. :( I got her out, she seems ok i can't see any broken bones but she's covered in little black lines are they just bruises? I hope she's ok, i think i got more of a fright then she did tho as she is sitting up on the blinds right now. You hear horror stories about chams falling and dying from it. Will she be ok or am i just panicking? :(

Poor little Mia! Yes, those black lines are bruises - they take a few days to go away, just like our bruises. They do get in such a state to come out though - Amy always lunges at me when I open her door, I'm surprised that she hasn't fallen out yet in her rush to come out! As long as Mia is moving normally and is eating, drinking and pooping ok then she'll be fine. They are built to withstand falls - it's a survival tactic in the wild - they inflate their lungs just before impact to cushion the fall. Amy jumped off my hand when she was small trying to get away from me and landed on the floor spread-eagled, but she was fine - it was me that wasn't, lol!

Chams do bruise easily and that is the black marks you see. I would just keep an eye on her and make sure she isn't limping or having any other issues.

Tuffy, my quad mommy, got out of her cage and I opened a door not knowing she was behind it. I bruised almost 1/2 of her little body. I was sure I had killed her. I cried for 2 days even with her acting ok. That has been months and clutches ago. I am sure if Mia is acting fine then she will be fine. At least you did nothing wrong, I was totally at fault when I hurt my sweetheart.:(

They are not the best pics in the world as i had to take them from my phone cam. She has the bruises on her knee's and tail as well. :(

Same with me, i got myself in a state worrying about Mia but she looks like she's wondering what all the fuss is about. I'm sure she's ok, just was awful to see her fall and her little bruises. Poor Mia

when my cham walks out on the door it is like he is walking a thin tightrope. I am always worried about him falling so I put 4 or five pillows on the floor under the door, not taking any chances!
