Metal supports for repti breeze?

I saw a chameleon at a pet store in a large repti breeze cage and they had placed long metal supports from the top to the bottom of the enclosure and then they used these to mount branches and other things to them. Has anyone tried this? I am in the process of setting up my cage and looking for ideas.
