Mesh Tank question!

heat lamp with a stand. you must make sure it's not too close where it's going to burn the mesh top. if you find u can't get the lamp close enough to offer a basketing spit with burning the top screen u might have to go get a or make a top with a metal screen top.

i have a metal screen top on it and a heat lamp on it but it feels like its only heating up that little corner of the cage. Is that okay that it is just that corner for his basking spot?
Also, he tends to stay in the light more so than under the heat lamp. I hardly see him under the heat lamp

the closest vine to the heat lamp should be around 8-10 inches away from the bulb. Remember the heat lamp is for the chameleon to be able to regulate it's temperature. So it's ok if he's not under the heat lamp all the time. Maybe the temp under the light is a temp he likes more. The heat lamp just gives it an option if he feels too cold. You should be fine.

I see you have an ambilobe and live in Georgia... My question is why are you using a mesh topped TANK... Glass tanks are fine in drier climates in areas such as the UK and Europe but here, ESPECIALLY in summer in the south the air is much more humid (Except in TX where I am where its 103 in the shade :p).... A mesh enclosure IMHO is preferable... Like I said some climates it works but living in the south and being as close to an ocean as GA is it should be plenty humid naturally for you to be able to have a mesh enclosure

He lives in a 16x16x20 metal mesh cage. It has a golden pothos and a zebra plant inside of it along with vines stretching across the cage all over. He seems to love his zebra plant, he never seems to leave it

AHHH I got confused by the word tank... Semantics in the reptile world lol

EDIT: I have an umbrella plant in Stanleys cage and he loves to sit and stay in it.... They go where they want... Just make sure that all the vines you have are easily accessible I have found that if they are difficult to reach, Stan wont go to them without a hunger driven purpose
