Mellers

Oh ok. Thanks for pointing that out to me first! I was going to inquire without even knowing backround info D:

I picked up a couple of really small WC juvies last fall... they're doing great and growing like weeds. If I could find more in Canada from a reliable source I wouldn't hesitate to get a few more. 9 outa 10 I see around here are really beat adults in no shape to breed. Out of my 6 only the three I picked up as juvies really hold any hope for breeding attempts. But thats at least another year down the road.

Yea being a bigger cham. adults tend to get beat up alot. But you get one that is perfect(or close to it) and they are a sight to behold.

What gets me is the "mellers are communal" idea that 10 to an aquarium is fine... let em crawl all over each other... they like it. In my opinion, while they may be more tolerant of each other than say, panthers or veileds, they really seem to like being alone.

From what I hear, and this is strictly from what I HEAR, Female Mellers' are alot bigger and males tend to do that thing where their "mating tool" comes out and just hangs there for a bit, just like panthers.

Can you give me the link to the negative reviews please? On his website there's nothing but positive reviews, or maybe that's all he put up and just left out the negative ones.

all you gotta do to check out someone is go to fauna boi an do a search an youll find it

Not really the season

Melleri are seasonal breeders, my known male stopped wearing his courting colors about 6 weeks ago lol.

Call Mike at FL chams around December-January time he usually hatches ch around then. He knows his stuff lol

There is a member waiting on eggs but shes not doing a list until they hatch.

I got my cb from fluxlizard and I beleive he mentioned in another thread he was gonna try to breed again.

Problem is aside from sexing them is they have a courting process just because you have a male and female doesnt mean they will breed. In the wild only the strong survive so its the females instinct to only breed with the strongest of males.

They are my favorites too! Goodluck on your search:)

i cant bring myself to get one, i checked out each person sellin them an then i heard the scoop on where there comin from... i meen ch ok but imported newborns? sorry i just wont doit an if ya thinkin nahh they wouldnt do that someone on here has one that they got with an adult so the rumor is true...

lol an its cool if we rap brye Thompson is good people he wont care much.. so hey if it gets to hot for your lil ones let me know.

Rob are you having a bad day or am I? I have to work to read half of your post, what's up with that?

it meens i wanted a few bad when i first saw them then the more i saw who was getting them i checked into it alittle more, an cannot get one knowing where they come from, an im havin a great day so must be you

How did you find that out (that they are wild caughts)? Is there any chance they were farmed/ranched animals and not picked from wild trees? I know there are quite a few African chameleon species that are ranched/farmed.

they wernt ch here lets put it that way.after seein them in the bottom of the cage at the last show didnt reasure me it was worth it either

I was guessing it was me.:(

i kinda haveta agree with rob on this one, well for those that dont know i got one of those baby mellers (still here and drinking great and eats ok- flies mostly- i had trouble feeding tiny crix or even silks)

at the show i saw the baby mellers, orginally i wanted to go for the better raised last one by chad tiki tiki BUT(got stolen at the booth)

the other guy Rob was talking about, well most of them were pretty far from perfect, me and Dave Weldon and another guy from the meetings SBCK, saw one looking dead on the floor. others not moving with closed eyes and some actually okay and moving.

the other guy and me agreed to at least get the best 3(he gets two i got one) from the bunch and maybe save them.

Overall Thompson i suggest to be patient and get your facts and info from people, wait for at least ch but cb would be much better

i feel my guy was WC by his/her behavior and is taking a while to acclimate.
very different than panthers as im learning.

they are an awsome species none the less

Yea I'm going to be patient. It isn't even safe to ship here in Vegas since its so hot this time of year. Definitely waiting for a cb mellers!
