What would be the proper size cage for a Melleri.?
I was wondering if a 24w x 48L x 48H would work?
Thanks
Brandon

That will work as a juvi until they are reaching more of an adult size. You will need to either free range your Melleri or build your own LARGE cage once it approaches adult size.

my boyfriend had actually found a 30x30x71" reptarium online with the liner for around 90 dollars shipped!!....our mellers loves it!! but ususally hangs out at the top. haha

My WC melleri was perfectly content in a large reptarium. My CB was fine in a 24"x24"x36" cage. I wanted togive him more room, so I took the sides out of two of them, and gave him a 48"x24"x36"H cage. I think I've caught him on the screen 5 or 6 times, max.

I moved him into a 6'x6'x3' cage. It had no door for nearly a week, and he never made an effort to leave it!

CB's are often much more content in a cage than WC's.

Unless you end up with a melleri that simply isn't happy living in a cage, that size should work just fine.

Its more about the Melleri's personality right Suzanne? I think my guy Lenny would do fine in a cage. He NEVER leaves his tree... as if he really could... but before when it was easier for him he still didn't wander off unless it was to go sit on top of his lights.

But, xarboreus, going with the biggest cage you can fit in your cham space that is practicle for the animal's size, is a good first move. If they can't stand being inside the cage... maybe go bigger or free range.

Yeah, that's my current theory. I will add though that IMHO more space is always appreciated by the chameleon.
I've yet to own a cham that used less than the space available. Even my little sub adult jacksonii use pretty much every inch of their 24x24x48" cages.
