so i thought to post some pictures of my pride and joy jasmine, given that i am new at this forum thing i thought to just get her out there.

awe thanks :) i actually found her by accident i almost chose a Jackson chameleon instead of her cause i didnt know how special she was. i am looking for a male... i understand completely it is VERY difficult to find one.

Beautiful! Apparently there is an available male a couple hours away and I have 4 new enclosures available! Hmmmm... :p

She looks fantastic when she's awake too :) My female Veiled is also called Jasmine.........nice name

really? ha give him to me! haha ive been looking for months for a male chameleon i would even pay for shipping, but its hard, and the fact that mellers are different than other chameleons when it comes to mating so i wouldnt know if shed even accept him it would be hard.

and thanks :) jasmine seemed to fit perfectly for her.

I have a question: how do you know that she's in fact a she? Aren't melleri hard to sex? Just curious...

good question ha, the previous owners had two and they thought they both were male but they started fighting so they got rid of one and kept mine and after a month she had laid eggs at the bottom of the cage but stepped on them because she didnt have the proper enclosure. the previous owners didnt really know how to care for her, then they gave her to me. so..ya ha shes laid eggs.

haha well you were doubting me so i had no choice ;) haha shes a sweetheart shes actually sleeping on my leg right now ^_^

ha i was just joking it is hard to sex a meller i would have doubted her being a she myself if the previous owner didnt tell me she had laid eggs, and honestly i wont believe it 100% until she lays another clutch of eggs ha i know that they lay infertile eggs once a year so .. im waiting ha

really? why is that, i dont know much about mellers besides theyre wonderful colors i thought they just mated like regular chameleons.

mellers are a lot harder to mate than other chameleons, the male doesn't just get to his business, it takes weeks months ive been told years for them to create a bond, what ive been told is that the female has to accept them and its very hard for a female to accept a male into her territory and they will mate for like a month then the female is pregnant for a month and then it takes about 8-9 months for the eggs to hatch, from what ive read off the internet and in books it seems like a very hard process and ive been told the best way to breed is if you have multiple females and males.
