Meet Pascal and his new Viv that i built him

Hi every one, I'm new to this forum and new to chameleons.
i had a spare cupboard so i built a viv and spent few weeks revising about panther chameleons and finally found pascal

Your cham is beautiful. How old is he?

I'm no expert, but if the front of his enclosure is glass, you may want to switch that to screen material. I'm sure the experts on here will chime in if I'm wrong.

That totally depends on how good of ventilation there is. Usually it's recommended to have at least two sides screened in, like the top and one side. And chameleons "lick" to taste the smells... which is the only way I can think of describing it XD

Hi thanks He is about 15 months old the shop told me, and yes he licks everything like that it's funny. I really didn't want a screen so read up a bit and spoke to few shops and they all said as long as there is plenty of ventilation it should be fine I have 2 terra fans one pulling air in and one pulling air out, 3 small vents and one large 5" vent in the centre. All seems to be ok at the moment. It's all trial and error when building your own viv. I need to install waste water and auto misting that's next months mission lol until then I'll be manual misting and moping out the exses water.

Yep, my panthers do this all the time. Especially when meeting someone new. The dog equivalent of sniffing butts Just getting to know you.

He's beautiful and you built an attractive viv. I would watch his behavior over time, as I suspect he'll find that space a little too confining. If you see that he spends a lot of time pawing at the walls or the front that's a sign that he is frustrated and needs more room. Sometimes chams paw at glass panels because they don't understand why they can't get past it to the room they can see from inside. Not all of them do this, but if he does, you'll need to make more adjustments or expand his territory.

I'm sure he should be ok, I tested it personally before and I had a quite a bit of room

It does look larger in that photo. Maybe the angle of the earlier ones made it look smaller. Hope it works out!
