Meet Mike-my new 4 month old Great Dane!

We just picked Mike up an hour ago-so far so good. Other dogs are excited but seem OK with him. He really is only 4 months old! He is HUGE! But very sweet and quite well behaved! I wish I had gotten one of these years ago!

And here is Mike's Dad! A small 170 lbs!

Awesome!! I had one last year gave him away to my friends mom who had 2 females... his name was Thor, a blue merle which is a silver color with white chest and small black spots, he was very loving and very playful as well as great with kids,... I cant wait to build my new house so I can get him back or another one again.... they are great dogs and have no idea how big they are, Thor would sleep in bed with me and the wife on a queen size bed lol.....

What a sweetheart.. gotta love the giants. I have and have had Irish Wolfhounds. If I wasn't crazy over them , I'd have a Dane too.

Be sure to moisten his food if you are feeding dry kibble and don't let him exert himself an hour before or after a large meal.

These guys are very susceptible to stomach torsion.. it can be deadly.

Easy on the growing bones also... don't encourage jumping or hard joint impacts.

Congrats on your pup. My Dane is 9 years old. He is the sweetest guy around. Make sure you order up an extra huge king size bed. They are great cuddlers ---- but hog the bed.
