Hello all, i just resently found you guys by a search. My little buddy is a veiled chameleon. hes about 3 months old now and love him to death. I got him here in san diego from the reptile show. He was a month when i got him in june and has grown alot since.

so far the color schemes ive seen him do are : black and yellow, bright yellow with a tinge of green, green with dark green stripes and his normal everyday birthday suit, green with yellow stripes

I made his cage custom with window screen frameing stuff that i had laying around, and screen door material. I picked up a nice R-Zilla fixture from craigslist that houses 2 heating halogen lights, and one 18 inch flourecent light, it also has a timer to turn off and on the lights.

when i first brought him home:

Hi and welcome to the Cham forums!! You'll find tons of info here along with nice helpful people. BTW Krikey is adorable!!! :)

Welcome man!

Your Cham. Looks great! Reminds me of my first cham ...anyway feel free to post as much of krikey as you can . Cuz here at the forums we luv updates of our own reptiles :D

Well hello to you and Krikey. Glad you were able to find us. i just have to ask, I saw crickets in the cup but what is all the white stuff? If that is calcium then you are using way way too much. You want to be dusting with plain calcium (no d3) every day but only use a hint of calcium each time. And if that isn't calcium I will be quiet. Well no one on the forum would believe I will be quiet:(:(.

Anyway if we can help ask away. On the forum you even get help when you don't ask for it:D, we are a very friendly group.

yea, thats calcium. When i first got him, i gave him alot, and i didnt really have a good way of dusting the crickets. Now i just put the crickets in a bag and lightly put some calcium powder in with them. then shake and bake. Needless to say i dont put anywhere close to that much in with him any more. Thanks for the observation though!

hes a cute little boy!! welcome to the forum :) hope you get all the help & advice you need you definately came to the right place.

Make sure you have a fresh UVB light (Zoomed Reptisun 5.0 18" should fit that fixture just fine)-they need to be changed out every 6-9 months. Also make sure you have a good digital thermometer to measure temps-your little one should not have a basking spot much higher than 85 degrees at this age.
