Just thought I introduce everyone to my new veiled chameleon, Charlie. I got him on black Friday, he is about 5 months old. Does not like to be handled...!

Got him from Petco, I know a guy that works there and I got lucky. I only payed 50 for him and he gave me all the breeders info so I called him and got the hatch date and some other info. It was pretty cool.

Cute cham, but I dont want to burst your bubble on his age. Definitely not a 5month old chameleon, maybe 5 weeks old. I couldnt tell you an exact age, but at 5 months a veiled cham starts showing some adult patterns and possibly some colors too.

Edit -- and do not worry about the not liking to be held part, its not just you. I am quite sure most of us have felt that at some point from their chams.

I only guess its only 5 weeks is because it's barely the length of a knuckle from snout to vent. I just feel its too small to be that old unless it was just not recieving the proper care which didnt allow it to grow properly (food, supplements), or it could just be a really small 3M old veiled which is possible too.

Or maybe mine is just abnormally huge -

Congrads on your cham.He looks like he needs to be spoiled.:D Fatten him up ,start wit some jucy horned or silkworms:p

JMO, but he is the same size as my Kimani, who was born on Sept. 15. I'm thinking he's more in the 2 1/2-3 month range. He's a cutie, good luck with him!
