mealworms maximum feed amount panther chameleon

Okay so I have a Panther Chameleon that is 4 months old and I fed him 4 small mealworms yesterday and I have a pack of 50 mealworms in my fridge so I was wondering how long they live for, do I need to feed them something else, and how many mealworms can I feed my chameleon? how much is too much.

i only give my 5 m panther 2-3 mealworms maybe twice a week. they will last in the fridge for about a month i believe.

you should be feeding him crickets. Like 1/4 inch ones or a little larger. not too big or he might not eat them. About 15-20 a day and then mix in the mealworms sparingly every so often. You can also try some silkworms. they are a good feeder. Better than mealworms.

also there are 4 in his feeder cup right now and he ate 4 yesterday can I take them out? and yes I have been feeding him 1/4inch crickets and I have even seen him eat full grown crickets with no reluctance

Yeah my Cham won't touch crickets now since he has had a taste of silks and Phoenix worms. My Cham also loves mealies with a passion but as stated on here somewhere they can get constipated from too many mealworms and crickets. And no mealworms do not bite, you are thinking of super worms.

Yes, you must gutload mealworms
Keep the mealworms to less than 10% of your chameleons diet if you can and you'll never have any issues with them.
NO one feeder should make up more than 20% of your chameleons diet - VARIETY is key
