Guess I never formally did this. Im Amanda, 28, mom of three. Army wife for 5.5 years now. I love photography, reading, and animals. I am owned by 2 Great Danes, 1 Veiled, 3 rabbits, 1 Red Eye Tree Frog, 2 cricket frogs, 1 WC salamander, and 72 bowfront reef with a NEMO (husband hates that) in it.:) The other fish disappeared..Think the emeralds ate them.. I heard about the site from chequepointe. I went on Craigslist asking for help for Betty (who passed away this week) and Keith was nice enough to respond and lead me here as well as give me Brad's website for reference (you got some diehard fans!). I live in Clarksville, TN, about 45 min outside Nashville. We love reptiles especially. Our dream is to someday open a mom and pop petstore. I would love to be a vet but not sure its in the cards for me. We want to house the animals in proper habitats and give people the option to buy the full setup. I know people who buy an animal and then say..what now..and are led int he wrong direction. Its easy to buy something on a whim, harder to know what do with it afterwards. Thats our goal..Id say in the next 10 years. We would love to own another veiled at a mate for Ben(ita) whom we thought was a boy but was advised otherwise by the awesome people on this site. We would also love to own a Peacock too..possibly a panther if the timing is right, but we are taking it slow and doing it right.. We are very impromptu people who will buy something on the spot if we have the means.. so this website is very tempting for me. LOL.:) But Im being a good patient person.:) I want to say thanks to all you who have reached an awesome hand out to me, especially when I was dealing with Betty and her passing. Uhm, I think thats my novel for right now..:D Merci.

Hi Amanda! I'm new too, my names Meghan, but most people call me Maggy. I'm 21, no kids, 1 Belgian Shepherd, 3 Cats, 1 Bird, and soon to have 1 Veiled (yay!). Right now I work for a call center, but I do like my job, and helping people. I love animals, my fiance thinks its a weird but loves it. We've been together for 6 years. Besides that, i think this is my new favorite website ever. The people on here are wonderful and helpful. So yay, now we've both introduced ourselves :p

Hi maggy!! :) Can you explain what your handle means? I see MAG in there so I assumed partly your name.:) Your animal clan sounds like ours. LOL. I wasnt allowed pets as a kid and when I got married, my husband had this obsession with fidning turtles in creeks and it grew from there.. He lets me pretty much get whatever I want as long as we can financially do it and I think it through clearly and extensively. We have bought our fair share of impromptu pets (Betty being one of them, I drove 2 hours after talking to the chick for 15 min and knowing she was either going to sell her to me if I got there in time, or leave her alone for a week and hope she survived)..so I went..and 1.5 months later..she is gone..but I believe I gave her 1.5 months longer than she woulda had..:) So, why a veiled? :) Mine was because we love reptiles and the two I have had (only one now) were unwanted animals living in closets being ignored and improperly cared for. I have a super big heart..gets me in a lot of emotional trouble..:) and yes, this website is Uber addictive! Hubby says I have found my new 'crack'. LOL.:)

TehMagwi is a mix sort of. Teh being "the" spelled in leet (1337) terms, I play a lot of video games and thats just how they turned it. Then Magwi, is supposed to be like the gremlins when they're cute and cuddly and taken from Maggy. It sort of stuck after watching Gremlins one night lol. My interest in the Veiled first is because I really would like to own more chameleons, but from everything I've read they're the best starter ones. (okay besides the fact i also think they're adorable). After a while of owning my veiled and getting accustomed to what it needs and finances of course, then i really want to get more chameleons as well, not sure about all veileds, but really, I love animals, I'll take any hehe. So its my starting point I guess.

Cool. WE love the GRemlins! Im an 80s child! LOL..:) We watched Monster Squad the other night..Man, my husband and I were talking about how the movies we watched in the 80s as kids are SO not appropriate for our kids. I mean, apparently out parents didnt think cursing and sexual content was bad..and while we dont recall it..just 10 min into amovie and already 3 cuss words and a man's...organ. LOL. Thats goonies... anyways.:) LOL.. So, any plans on getting married? 6 years is long to be with someone..if you dont believe in marriage thats pretty cool and you are still young. I got married when I was 22..said I never would..he said the same..and i happened within 3 months of PHYSICALLY meeting each other.. long story, very odd, but meant to be.. cue dreamy sighs.:) LOL.. btw, I think we have our own conversation going.:)

Yea I noticed that too lol. We do want to get married, but right now we actually work in the same company within the same department, so we're not even going to start planning the marriage until one of us gets moved or promoted. After 6 years it was just time to not be the boyfriend/girlfriend couple anymore, fiance sounded much more official lol. :p

Besides that I'm just happy to be getting my veiled soon. I'm actually buying him from Julirs on here. I'm ordering my cage and everything on Friday (payday) and then once it comes in and i set it up that day, I'm going down and getting it from her. I'm really excited :)

Alright, here is what we have going on right now.. WEll, I didnt picture the critters, just the habitats. All we have you can see in my first post..plus a new cham that comes tomorrow! :)
72bowfront. Its a disaster right now as we have a bad hair algae outbreak so most of the rock is in isolation until february..and our fish dsiappeared minus the lovely clown.

And these are 3 tanks that we have recently taken down and are in limbo. One was a frag tank, one was my frog habitat, and one was for fresh tetras. We upgraded the frog, changes out the frag tank as seen below, and sold the tetras since we want to focus on saltwater. These are in my hallway at the moment.

This is our new frag tank that was our seahorse tank. We didnt add the seahorses and took it down to focus on the 72 when it had its outbreak..so we moved the 34redsea to our bedroom and are currently setting it up as a frag tank for this weekends frag swap. In the corner is the new chams digs. Its empty right now as I get to go tree shopping for it today! This thing is a foot taller than me! :) This is the side of our bed. Our room has been taken over by all these cages as well as a chair that one dog sleeps on and a giant dog bed that the other dog sleeps on! I told my hubby we are just gonna have to get rid of the bed room and camp on the floor to make more room.:)

And lastly is our current critters setup. The old washboard houses most the supplies that we use on a daily basis. Next to that is Bens setup (the towel is to cover up her laying bin to give her privacy, and then my Red Eyes new much larger habitat.:) This is the end of our bed.

Thanks for letting me share..and moreso for letting me know that we are not the only crazy people wall to wall with critters!@ :)

We have since added a lone Clown to the 34 gal next to Leos cage and of course, put leo in his fully plant loaded habitat. Im trying to find a place to put the roaches Im getting for the cham. Running outta room!!
