Me again...with another question?

Things seem to be working well in my new set up and I have no trouble getting the humidity up to 90% during the night. But then it takes at least till noon to get it back down to around 60% Is this a problem ? Also, I mounted a little computer fan on the mesh top so that it sucks the air out during the day. Is this okay? I don't want to bring him home until everything is tip top ! Thanks guys!!!

Normally you would want the pc fan pushing in from the bottom. Also this would help drop the humidity to ambient quicker.

The slow drop in humidity shouldnt be a problem as long as you are not noticing mold growth. What you dont want is "wet cage" all day long. You want it to dry out at least some point during the day.

The humidity would depend on a few things:

Is your house ambient humidity high? If so know that 60+% is when mold grows, but overall the Cham should be fine given good ventilation still.

When the humidity is high, are the temps still lower? Cooler temps and high humidity aren’t so much of an issue. Also the basking spot humidity may be lower than where you’re measuring it from?

Really what you’re looking for is ventilation, that’s probably the most important aspect. Cham’s thrive in a lot of climates… I’ve kept mine outside and many others have, plus they do well in Florida, Hawaii, etc. warm and humid is FINE given they have *ventilation* and water/shade.

With that said, the fan is fine and a good idea. I’d set it to a timer to go on intermittently for a few minutes or so.

I moved the fan to the bottom so it pushes air through the vent there and then up through the top screen.. Thanks!

No, my house humidity is normally around 30% but it is cool and raining now so it's about 45% And yes I would think the basking spot would be much drier...I have the probe in the other side of the tank. Like where should the probe for the mister be suctioned? I moved the fan to the bottom vent so that it can push the air upwards. Thanks!!!

See how the fan does for you and maybe measure it at the basking spot to get a rough idea of what the humidity is there.

A simple general take is low humidity during the day. And high humidity at nights.
