Hey guys, so yesterday morning, i finally decided to move my 5 month old ambilobe / ambanja panther chameleon ( Bulbasaur) to his fully setup and functional adult cage which is 2'x2'x4'. His previous enclosure was 12"x18"x20".
As soon as i put him in, he was hanging out on the top part of the cage, basking under his uva/ uvb lights. ( this was before i headed to work around 1 pm.
I came home later that day around 6 30 pm and i found him at the bottom of his enclosure, chillin around a trunk of one of the trees with his tail curled up. When i asked my brother since when did he notice him like this, he told me since about 5pm.

Now, my problem right now is, im not sure how much time i should give him to kinda get used to his new place or is this already a sign that he is freaked out and to move him back to his smaller place. Also, what other signs might give away that it wasn't the right time to move him yet.
Thanks a bunch!

I dont know about curling up his tail, but I know my guy likes to spend time at the top, and time on a vine closer to the bottom. He may be a little overwhelmed by the change (as anyone would being transferred to a new home). I'd say he just needs some time to adjust and explore before coming comfortable with it

I don't think he's freaked out, he's just exploring his options. 5pm for my guys is winding down time, they'll get a couple extra moments of basking time before finding their favorite sleeping spots for the night and just chilling there until the lights go off at about 7. Two of my guys sleep in the middle/bottom portion of their cage, and have so for months, regardless of what changes I make to their cages. My Jackson's likes to sleep holding on to one of the legs of the tall plant stand in his cage, and he'll sleep there quite comfortably nearly every night. And so will my female veiled.

Unless he is thrashing around, sporting black stress colors, he's probably just exploring :) In 2-3 more days he should feel right at home.

well it is a little darker then his older cage because his smaller cage was a lot easier to keep really well lit, it wasnt so big, you know?
but i just saw him eat, good sign right?
Here's a picture of his new place. Sorry for the shitty pic, ill post better ones
as soon as i seen bulbasaur being more active :D

ok so, he's eating and hunting his crickets down, which is a good sign!
So happy that he's getting a bit more comfortable :D.
Hopefully he stays this way! thanks guys!
