my female just laied her 1st clutch this week of infertiles so now when do i want to introduce my male????????????????? i wannna breed them!!!! but when is the correct time to do this

Laying eggs takes allot out of them. I would give her plenty of time to recover. How old is she? It it not recommended to breed until they are over a year old because their body still needs the calcium that the eggs would take away from her.

They could become receptive in a year or based on how much they weigh. It is ideal to get a digital scale to monitor their weight. Also, watch for the pinkish colors. If they are a year old and going pink, introduce the male to the females enclosure and see what happens. The male may just mount and do his thing. But if she gappes and gets pissy remove them and try again. I hope this helps you. Good luck and ask some of the seniors here or moderators they will guide you in the right direction as well.

Thats quite a hierarchic view. I cant wait until I get to be one of those so I too can start guiding people in this public forum...

okay she is a year almost laied her 1st clutch three days ago :) how long in days should i appox wait to introduce them is what i ment........... i dont want her gravid with infertiles this time i wanna get a start on this breeding thing so i can expand hopefully because i got some great looking panthers (in my opinion) that came from some AMAZING looking parents my babies will be ambilobie/ambanja/nosy be/ sambava morphs!!!!!!!!!!!! think of those colors :) :)

She's not even eating or regaining her strength from this clutch. She needs extra calcium after laying eggs. I use lots of extra calcium dust on the feeders the first few days after laying or give liquid calcium. This girl needs to rest for awhile before you even think of breeding her unless you want her to live a very short life.

okay and she has a VERY firm grip not weak at all just not noticing her eat can i mix repti cal calcium powder in water and give her a spoonful directly in her mouth

Lol, i like that a hierarchic view. I cant wait either, being a senior member makes us like gods hehehehe.

yeah she always had food though maybe just tired from it all or lazy ha she was lazy before she laid eggs she would only be hand fed

What is the big rush to mate her? Did she not just lay eggs about one week ago?!?!?!? I'm sure you've read enough on this forum to understand, at least to some degree the toll that egglaying takes on a female. I guess I am just baffled that you are so eager and willing to put her through that again so soon. If I were her I would gape and turn dark too :(

You need to wait awhile before you try to mate her. At least a few months. Every clutch shortens their life.

If she continues to lay infertile clutches, there is nothing really you can do. When she becomes receptive again in a few months, evaluate her, make sure she is healthy, have good weight, etc.
If she is still stuggling to bounce back from the laying of infertile clutches, do not breed her when she becomes recptive. You need to wait until she is nice and healthy

Its good to feed her well for a couple of days, but if you continue to do so she will likely produce a big clutch. You don't want to starve her...just don't overdo it.

As far as mating, it usually takes a while after they have laid a clutch (infertile or not) to become receptive again. Her behavior (dark, gaping) to the male is saying she's not receptive.
