I introduced the girl to him and he flared up and the what not waving around, but when I put her onto the opposing vine, he ran like a little boy, and she didnt do anything except get very lime green but didnt gape or puff up.....is my boy gay?!?! lol

LOL well lets hope not becasue he is a stunner and will make some very pretty babies!!!:D Maybe he ran becasue she didnt have gravid colors......i dunno much about that!

Oh i know they r still young i just wanted to see what type of coloring would happen if I left her in for a few minutes.

Why remove the red lamp??

Because to a chameleon red lamps look strange. They don't see them and think 'oh a warm sunny place to sit'. They shouldn't be used at night to warm the cage either.

Just use a household flood lamp or spot lamp or even a normal bulb style lamp.

If they dont see them, then how is it hurting them?? Mine move to different positions when they thermoregulate........and usually I do turn them off at night, except the ones that are gravid.

Chameleons can see a range of light spectrums that the human eye cannot decipher.
If you can see red light, you bet your boots the chameleon does as well.

Read into what he said wrongly......thought that he said they dont see the red light. All I know is that they bask under them and move when they dont need the heat, so if its working and they r thriving, then its working for me.

Take a look at this post and you'll see why I was hinting that they may not see red like we do..... Link

just imagine sitting under a red light all day in your room... youd be able to move around and see... but everything would look red to you.... itd be annoying but you could still function right?
