I have a pair of veileds, and now trying my luck with breeding. The male is about 3 yrs old and the female fully grown ( age unknown). When I first introduced them she was not receptive while hissing and going jet black, but he continued anyway. They have never "mated" due to her fighting, and me interupting. Just curious if this is normal. He is obsessed with other females.

This is very normal. The jet black color and hissing is the female telling the male to go find someone else to get with. Be careful, I have seen males bite and hurt females when they were not receptive because the male wanted to breed.
Keep them separated for a few days, and re-introduce them. Doing this may cause their love to grow while they are away from each other. If it doesn't, repeat the process.

When she is receptive she will get robins egg blue spots on her. When the male is put in the cage she will become very submissive and there won't be a problem with mating. She will let him mount her. If you try to rush things the eggs may turn out infertile so let nature dictate when you put them together if you want babies.
