I have a young adult male sulcata tortoise available. He is about 18 inches straight line,30 pounds and about 5 years old. He is completely healthy. I bought him a few years ago thinking "he" was a "she". He is definitely a male. I already have a male, so there is no need for another one.
He is $299

man thats a really cool turtle.

How big do these turtles get?

also, are they pets you just kinda watch or are they pets that have some sort of interaction with you?

They can get to be around 150 pounds. Most sulcatas have personalities. This guy will follow you around. He knows if he follows me around, I will give him some of his favorite greens or flowers.

Sulcatas have great personality but are one of the largest growing species in the world and require literal ACREAGE. They are not for beginners in the least.

Good point Kenya! Yes, they do need their space. Mine are free roaming in my backyard. I haven't had to mow the backyard in a couple years. They keep the lawn looking just like it has just been mowed. Too bad they don't clean up after themselves...:)

man that is huge. I actually have a few lots open at our ranch where i used to house the goats i showed in highschool. I figured my little sister would like soemthing like this since i usually only go down there for a weekend a month.

My parents are good with taking care of the goats/cattle we have at our place, do you think that it would be to much for them?

the lots have a nice shelter thing with heaters and about a 1/4 acre lot

Sulcatas are easy to care for. They eat the grass and other plants and flowers they can reach or fall to the ground. You just have to provide a heated enclosure for them to sleep in. If the temperatures go below 60, then it is advised to keep them warm at night. They do not hibernate either and are active year round. Mine do slow down in the winter, but still come out to feed.
