Male (possibly female) panther chameleon? Sexing info...

just grabbed this little'un. i already have a female veiled.

store told me due to the slight bulge/lump at the base of the tail, it could be a male, but the coloration to me suggest female. then again, i've had folk tell me they've had males retain this coloring up until about 8-12 months sometimes, maturing later and not displaying vibrant male coloring as early as they should. he/she is tiny too, so... hopefully...

very small though so possibly full colors not come through yet. thus far: white, black, some green, grey, red under chin and red/green spots on eyes have come through. he/she's also very, very aggressive, hissing and lunging at me as soon as i get close. my female veiled is as friendly as can be, coming to my hand the second i'm near her. hand-feeding easily, etc. the aggression to me alludes to the possibility of it being male.

also, he did not know what locale at the reptile store, so any ideas would be appreciated.

lastly, any idea of age from size would also be helpful.

thanks in advance guys.

Congrats on your new panther and welcome to the chameleon forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons. I think you have another female and quite the lovely one. She's going to be a gorgeous lady. I love females! They are just so sweet. With a female panther it's darn near impossibable to guess the local. I would guess her age to be around 4 months old.

I have a couple of blogs that I'm attaching for you below. The first is about the general care for your chameleon. I have a special section for females. The second blog is about egg laying and the laying bin.
