Male Panther won't "insert" my female...

My virgin female panther is a little over a year old and my virgin male panther is 10 months old. The female is accepting his advances and he is bobbing his head a lot. He will mount her but he wont "insert" hisself... He has been in there for about 15 mins and they are just sitting there mounted and he is bobbing his head. Is there anything I can do? Maybe show them another male or something? Does it take the males long to figure it out?

Let them be. Leave them alone and go back and peak on them later. Give it 20 minutes after you see him going for her. He should be able to stuff her within an hour...

Try it again tomorrow. Let the girl rest When her reaction to him is to open her mouth and rock back and forth and even turn dark (gravid) you know it was done "well". Don't continue to offer her to him if she acts like that. Your male was just being polite and courting the female. That method is much nicer than the ones that grab the female and go for it right off the bat. I have a male that did that earlier today. The first pairing was yesterday. Today he was much more polite. He was just laying on top of her, holding her while his head was on top of hers. He periodically bobbed his head. After 1/2 hour of that he did the deed.
