I had turned on the lights in the room that my chameleon is in when he was sleeping. When I went over to him I noticed when he woke up he started breathing heavley. And after a few seconds it went away. Is this normal?? Ik when I wake up from sleeping i might take some bigger breaths.

It sounds like he is ok. Chameleon do not like to be disturbed when sleeping. In the future you want to keep the room as dark as possible. Just the slightest amount of light can wake them up. When I have mine sleeping inside, I put dark sheets over their cages as my computer is in the same room and I like to go on it late at night. Just make sure if you do decide to cover them up that the sheets or whatever you might use for a cover is off before the lights go on in the morning! I had my lights on a timer before and they went on before I got up and the heat from the dome started to burn a hole in the sheet! Could have started a fire for sure. Live and learn!

Okay thanks. I kinda believed he was okay. I normally have the room completely black when there sleeping, it was a one time thing.
