One way to tell the difference between them is their color. The females tend to by less color then males. Here are some examples. I know that these are adults but the same rules apply to smaller panther chameleons. Also the males tail has a larger base. I do not know if you can see it in the photo but i outlined the tail bases in red of the chameleons. If I left out any thing please say so.
