What if I told you that it was sold as a female? Would you still be certain that it was a male? When I saw it I thought Male too but brought it home to see what someone else thought.

On a better note: The 2 eggs from my deceased female have hatched today. One is out of the egg and roaming around the dish and the other is half way out. I'm making certain that their nursery is up to the correct temp before transferring them. I knew they would be small but man, they are SMALL. Now I need to decide what to do with my extra male.

That male would be unrelated to the two new babies. How about when they are old enough you make a new group with the male and maybe a girl from the clutch that just hatched.

Well the male I already have is not related to these babies. I purchased a wild caught gravid female and a cb male(3 months ago) but never put them together b/c i was told not to. The female laid eggs within a week of getting here,2 of them, my inexperienced guess is that there is 1.1 out of this clutch.
I took the new male back and exchanged it. I will post a pic as soon as my battery gets charged. I think they were all males but this one looked a bit different, tail length seems the same on all of them. Pic to come.
Thanks so much,
Thom O

New "female" picture. What ya'll think?

To be honest, It looks like another male.

Then again, it's been a while since i've kept this species.

Does age matter in sexing them? Should I put them together and see what they do?
I want to trust the company that we got them from but, I trust you guys more for some reason :)
Depending on how it is sitting, It looks male then later it'll look like a female.
The tail is long but I have read that isn't a sure fire way to tell. This latest one has not been green at all only browns and blacks. It gets bold patterns but no color(green), just brown, black, gray, white.
Judging by the side by side comparison picture: males have more or sharper ridges in their back? The tails seem the same length on those, to me.

one thing i have noticed by your picture and my pics of my old female, is that one stripe down the side as opposed to a full pattern like the male has. Females have a more arched back? I see a difference in body shape in your picture too. Compared to your picture and my pics of females, I believe that it is a boy as well. The guy that has the other 4 can't identify positively their sexes either.

I can't believe those are only 4 days old, Nice camera! My 2 eggs just hatched on Monday and I can't get a good picture of my babies :(

I have also noticed that my male pygmies have a very slight hemipenal bump or bulge if you will. They have to be somewhat stretched out to see. I don't know if this is true will all males of this species but my 2 have the bulge and my 3 female do not. Good Luck.
